Tour plan

We depart Conwy and quickly settle into a fast, smooth run across the bay. As we head west,
our guides will point out seabirds, tidal features, and the changing character of the coastline — setting the tone for a true adventure at sea.

Our first stop is Puffin Island, one of North Wales’ most important wildlife sites. We slow down to observe seabirds, seals, and porpoises that frequent these nutrient-rich waters. This is also a known transit route for dolphins, making it an exciting early opportunity for sightings.

Leaving Puffin Island behind, we open the throttles for an exhilarating offshore run across to
Anglesey’s northeast coast. This stretch offers open-sea excitement, dramatic views, and prime
dolphin-spotting conditions as we track along tidal lines and feeding areas.

We arrive at Point Lynas, a striking headland crowned by its spectacular lighthouse. This area is widely regarded as one of the most reliable locations in the region for dolphin activity, with animals often seen bow-riding, feeding, or travelling along the coastline. We spend time here scanning, drifting, and following any activity we find.

Midway through the trip, we head into Amlwch Port for a relaxed break. You’ll have time to
stretch your legs, use toilets, and grab refreshments while taking in the historic harbour — once a major industrial port during Anglesey’s copper-mining boom.

Refuelled and refreshed, we head back out along the coast toward the atmospheric old brickworks site. This lesser-known stretch of shoreline offers rugged scenery, industrial heritage, and excellent marine habitat — another key area where dolphins and porpoises are regularly encountered.

We loop back toward Point Lynas for a second dedicated dolphin-spotting session. Timing, tides, and conditions often change throughout the day, increasing our chances of sightings as feeding patterns shift.

The final leg takes us back across the open water toward Conwy, offering one last fast run and a chance to reflect on an extraordinary day at sea. Along the way, we continue scanning for wildlife — because with dolphins, you never know when the next moment will happen.
