Tour plan
The adventure begins as we depart from Conwy Harbour, racing down the channel and past the striking Penmaenmawr headland. Feel the exhilaration of skimming across the waves as we make our way toward Puffin Island.
As we approach the rocky tip of Puffin Island, we slow down to give you a closer look at the island’s thriving seal colony. Watch as these curious creatures bask on the rocks or playfully swim in the surrounding waters. Our crew will share fascinating facts about the seals and their habitat.
Circling around Puffin Island’s towering cliffs, you'll be treated to incredible close-up views of the island's diverse birdlife. Keep an eye out for gannets, guillemots, and puffins (during the season), as they mill around the rock formations, nest on the cliff ledges, and fill the skies overhead.
We then cruise through the scenic Puffin Sound, where we often spot dolphins and porpoises riding the waves. We’ll get up close to the historic Penmon Lighthouse, offering a great photo opportunity and a chance to hear about its role in guiding ships through these waters.
On the southern side of Puffin Island, marvel at the dense cormorant colonies perched on the cliffs. These impressive birds, alongside other seabirds that can only be observed from the sea, make this part of the tour a birdwatcher’s delight.
After immersing yourself in the beauty and wildlife of Puffin Island, enjoy the thrill of our high-speed return trip to Conwy. It’s a fast but family-friendly ride sure to delight both kids and adults alike.
If the tides allow, we’ll take a scenic detour past the WW2 gun-sites on the Great Orme and Llandudno’s West Shore before concluding our voyage.
